AÑORANZA
Sept - Nov 2017
Logline:
Longing to reconnect with his distant grandson, Lencho reaches out to Antonio to tell him the truth of his parents.

Production Design:
This film was set in a Mexican-American home in a Hispanic community. I wanted the house to have a warm familiar tone to it, in contrast with the outside world. The DP wanted to have the film be in toned down sad colors and we came up with the idea of having the house be a huge contrast to that. To show what their world used to be like versus what their life is like now. I wanted the space that they shared as a family to be protected and safe while on the outside it's cold and indistinguishable - pushing Tony to get wrapped up in crime. I also wanted it to seem almost too perfect, as if Lencho were trying too hard to keep his grandson at home.
For this film I hired the crew, created the budget, did all the graphic design for it, and completely changed a location to fit this film with the help of my set decorator.
