JEONG - WARDROBE

Sept - Nov 2017

Logline:

A young North Korean girl, trafficked into forced labor, is made to choose between her personal freedom or the love for her friend.

Wardrobe Design:

The designer had a color palette that the entire film was centered around. It was all primary colors with the girls being the only secondary colors. He wanted this to show that their characters are a result of their surroundings. So for this I had Mi-Sun (the girl in green) have a tougher look. She is the one that fights back and tries to win her freedom. Meanwhile Yoo-Sin is much more delicate and afraid which is why I gave her such a gentle look. The designer wanted Yoo-Sin to have something yellow (as a representation of their old home and hope) the way that the mother did and the cornfield did. Bo, the captor was supposed to have a darker reddish look to obviously make him seem corrupted and evil.
