THE SUICIDE

JAN - April 2019

Logline:

A show about a man who can't find a job, has a girlfriend that hates him and lives with his in-laws and how the public drives him to a suicide because they'll benefit from it.

Scenic Artist Work:

I was part of a crew of 5 scenic artists with a scenic manager. I designed the static stairs, moving bed box, and flying flats in AutoCAD. Once those were finished and I ordered the materials we started construction.

I was in charge of constructing the flying flats, railings, bed box, rolling shutter mechanisms and the stairs. I also did all of the painting on the set minus the floor, that we did together since it was 14 by 10 meters. I developed a strategy to paint the same pebble dash texture on all of the flats using a spray gun, texture, and a mixture of layers of paint.

I also created a mold of an ear as a prop as well as helped create the Adidas coffin prop.

We had to break down the entire set and load it into the Stratford Circus in London in a day. Then we had four days to put the finishing touches on everything in between lighting rehearsals.
